McLeod's Daughters
An Australian television series we found on Netflix.
Oh, Netflix, let me just take a moment to thank you for introducing me to some incredibly amazing non US television and movies. You are worth way more than the price I pay for your services.
Anyway, my Mama is now addicted to this series and with over 200 episodes, I'm excited to have found it! We just started season 2.
Dover's Run is home to Claire McLeod, Tess, Meg, Jodi, and Becky. They're all tough, beautiful, and hard-working... well, Jodi works.
The Ryan's are their neighbors at Killarney. Harry Ryan, his wife Liz, and son Alex work there. Their other son Nick is also a farm worker on a different farm.
We've met Becky's family and I'm glad she's found a home at Dover's run.
Becky has a suitor in Brett, also known as Brick. He is patient and kind and thoughtful. He's a good guy and I'm glad he's set his eyes on Becky, she needs a good, kind man in her life.
There are a few other characters worth mentioning, but I'm not.
I've never been as drawn to Australia as I am to England or Ireland; but it certainly is beautiful there. I don't think I'm made of tough enough stuff to beat a snake with a stick or sleep in the open air with the insects, so I admire the thought of anyone who does. Also, once I saw the internet video of a spider eating a snake I decided Australia is not somewhere I need to go.

King of the Nerds
I *love* this show!
The cast of contestants are perfect and the challenges are fun. I'm watching the third episode at the moment, and have to admit I may have a rather big crushie crush on Brandon Moore.
Brandon Moore is cute and funny and I sincerely want to know him. He hasn't irritated me once.
When I first met the cast I was drawn to Alana Smith-Brown because she reminded me a lot of myself. She's sort of an outcast in a house full of outcasts and has a tendency to freak the flip out when things don't go as she thinks they should. While I don't think her chances of winning the competition are high, I'd be delighted to make her acquaintance.
Genevieve Pearson and Celeste Anderson both come off as kindhearted sweethearts that can probably out-think anyone in the house and have excellent chances of winning this thing. Also, I want to be friends with them. Of course, if Genevieve ever woke me up in the morning singing about birds and flowers, I might have terminate the friendship.
Hendrik was a delight and intimidatingly smart. I was incredibly sad when he went home.
Ivan Van Norman is smart, creative, cute, and crafty. I wouldn't be surprised if he won the whole thing. He also has this alphatude that comes off as capable and comforting while not being irritating and jerkish. (Though I have no doubt he's got the snarky, jerkish, I'm smarter than you thing in his back pocket.)
Jon Paprocki was a super fun dude who I enjoyed watching and would also love to be friends with.
Joshua Ovenshire is the most attractive guy on the show, just saying.
Moogega Cooper is the most intimidating person on the show for me. She's genius, gorgeous, and genial. Therefore she's dangerous. I have high hopes for Moogega.
Virgil Griffith is a brilliant hacker who comes off a bit lazy and sometimes arrogant. Those last two may help him go far in the competition. I wanted to love Virgil because I already knew of him from his master hacker skills and because he was born in my hometown and then raised not far from here. He also attended the University of Alabama. Good luck, Virgil. And Roll Tide Roll.
Danielle Mackey is really pretty. And she has pink hair. But, she's not very nice... and I don't enjoy people who aren't nice.
I hope this show gets many seasons to come with equally awesome cast members.

Roswell
My Nerd Wars team decided to include Roswell in it's canon for T7. I remember watching Roswell when it aired, but decided it needed a rewatch for help in possible future submissions. I watched the entire 61 episode series between January 18, 2013 and January 26, 2013.
Roswell got three seasons on the WB and UPN (now CW) from 1999-2002. I vividly remember the first season and many of the 21 episodes in the second season, but didn't recall any of the 18 episodes from the last season. I was in college from 2001-2003 and didn't watch much television. I'm thinking I don't remember the third season because I just didn't watch it, but I have to admit it could have been blocked out of my memory for being so disappointing.
I haven't read the Roswell High book series, but I am interested to read them.

For my own interests
I'm not very exciting. My media choices aren't altogether fascinating or thought-provoking. This blog is mainly for my own knowledge. I've often wondered how much time I spent staring at a tv or movie screen in a year. I've often wanted a log of all the movies I've seen and what I thought of them.
So this is where I'll log that information. I'm going to try my best to recall all of my entertainment choices for January as this is already the 30th.

Today's TV
- George Gently, episode 1- Bacchus reminds me of James Blunt.
- Upstairs, Downstairs, original, episode 1--- 1960's not very exciting. I am interested in finding out how Clemence/Sarah gets on.
- The New Normal, Dairy Queen/episode 15
- Arrow, s1e11/Trust But Verify
- Arrow, s1 e12/Vertigo

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Loved this movie!
I was predisposed to love this movie as I adore Judi Dench and Maggie Smith as well as Bill Nighy and Penelope Wilton.
